The deligation of Hanoi Open University (HOU) attended the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC Board of Directors Meeting and the Education Forum in the Lao People's Democratic Republic

On October 18-19, 2018, SEAMEO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos organised 20th SEAMEO SEAMOLEC Annual Meeting and the forum "The importance of technology-based training in the new era of collaboration."

The delegation from Hanoi Open University included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Mai Huong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, member of the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC Board and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Tam - Head of Department for Scientific Research and International Cooperation.

At the meeting of the Board of Directors, the participants discussed and elaborated the operational policies of SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, approving the programs and annual budget of the Center within the framework of the 5-year plan, annual review of programs and budgets of the Center and adoption of annual reports.

At the forum "The importance of technology-based training in the new era of collaboration," Ms. Nguyen Mai Huong delivered a speech on the role of information technology in training in Vietnam in general and at Hanoi Open University in particular. She also participated in discussions and shared experiences to identify strategies, action plans and implementation mechanisms to promote education in Southeast Asia to meet the needs of the 21st century through integrate technology into teaching and learning

On the sidelines of the Forum activities, on behalf of Hanoi Open University, the Chairman of the University Council, Ms. Huong exchanged with the SEAMOLEC Center about the plan to organize the skills training on online content development, SEAMOLEC technology for staffs, lecturers of HOU, and provide opportunities to connect education in Southeast Asia.
