On January 16, 2018, Hanoi Open University and the Center for Educational Quality Assessment - Hanoi National University held the closing ceremony of the official survey to serve external evaluation of Hanoi Open University.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Former President of Hanoi National University, Head of the External Evaluation Team presented the report on the results of the official survey. The report of the External Evaluation Team highlighted the strengths of Hanoi Open University and recommendations to improve the quality according to the Ministry of Education and Training's criteria for quality assessment of universities.
